Visa Requirements for Children Under Sixteen (16) Years

Children Under Sixteen Years (Travelling with a single parent or without Parents)

All visa applications for minors must comply with the regulations of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Sri Lanka. The following documents are required:

·        Valid passport of the child

·        Confirmed return or onward travel ticket

·        Original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate

·        Parental Consent (A notarised affidavit signed by both parent(s) or legal guardians granting permission for the child to travel)

·        If applicable, supporting documentation confirming legal guardianship

Additional Requirements for Children Not Travelling with Parents/Legal guardians

·        Consent for Accompaniment (A notarised affidavit from both parents or legal guardians authorising the child to travel with the accompanying adult or alone)

·        Details of the Responsible Adult in Sri Lanka (if applicable)

• A notarised affidavit from the individual in Sri Lanka who will assume responsibility for the child during their stay

• Copy of the host’s identification (passport or national ID)

• Contact details and address of the host in Sri Lanka

Important:

• All affidavits must be notarised or attested by a competent authority.
• Immigration authorities may request additional documentation if necessary.
• Failure to provide the required documents may result in refusal of entry in accordance with Sri Lankan immigration regulations.
