The High Commission of Sri Lanka in London successfully conducted the first day of its two-day Special Consular Service on 1 August 2026 at its premises, providing Birth Registration, Citizenship Registration, and Passport Application services for newborns to members of the Sri Lankan community in the United Kingdom.
The special initiative was organised in response to the growing demand for consular services and aimed to provide applicants with a dedicated opportunity to access essential documentation and registration services. During the first day of the programme, the High Commission assisted over 100 applicants, facilitating the processing of applications and ensuring the smooth delivery of consular services.
The initiative forms part of the High Commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance the accessibility, efficiency, and effectiveness of consular services provided to Sri Lankan nationals in the United Kingdom. It also reflects the High Commission’s continued commitment to responding to the needs of the Sri Lankan community through targeted service delivery initiatives.
The second Special Consular Service will be held on 8 August 2026, offering the same range of services to registered applicants.
