All travellers visiting Sri Lanka for Business Purposes must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arrival.
You should apply for a Business ETA if travelling for:
For stays of up to 30 days: Applicants (or a third party on their behalf) may apply online through the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system via the official website: www.eta.gov.lk
For stays exceeding 30 days: Applicants must either:
Requirements for a Visa Application via the High Commission
Applicants who wish to obtain a Business Visa through the High Commission are required to submit the following:
1. Duly completed - ETA Business Visa application form
2. Original passport with at least two blank visa pages (Passport must be valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival)
3. Copy of passport (data/photo page)
4. One recent passport-sized photograph (taken within the last six months)
5. Valid UK visa (for non-British applicants)
6. Invitation letter from the host company/organisation in Sri Lanka (Must confirm the purpose of visit, applicant’s name and passport number, and duration of stay)
7. Letter from the sending UK company/organisation (Addressed to the Visa Section of the High Commission & Issued by an authorised officer on official letterhead)
8. Applicable - visa fee
Postal Applications
· If submitting your application by post, please include a postal order payable to “Sri Lanka High Commission”, with the relevant visa fee and a self-
addressed prepaid (special delivery) envelope to return the passport.
· The High Commission is not responsible for any lost or damaged documents sent by post.
